L’ombre de la nuit, de Marco Pianelli

It’s night. Paco Sabian walks on a road in Ardèche. It’s raining, the cold creeps in and freezes his bones, the moon isn’t ready to give way. A car stops at this incongruous hour. A woman driving alone. A mother retracing the path on which her son disappeared just five years ago. Since then, nothing. Paco is dark, silent, dragging fate, like others their shadow. Who is he ? Why is he there? In his vagabond costume, he seems to be pursuing a goal known only to himself. And when on his way, he crosses Evil, he does not turn away, he does not close his eyes. He faces and confronts her. Finally no matter his name and why he was passing by. Paco takes the form of fate, the last resort of those who, without him, had no chance of obtaining justice.

SPSP:  In this thriller, the realm of boxing is approached with not very recommendable characters, many fights, a lot of blood, and descriptions worthy of a cinema script. A dark, hard novel, with a humanity that reveals itself in a few gestures, a few words, a few This first novel by Marco Pianelli is made for lovers of the genre, lovers of action. The plot well put together and rich in twists and turns.  

The characters, themselves, are well established and there are many of them, in both camps. Susanna                   

Biography:  Marco Pianelli is a writer. After studying literature, he won a scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and left as a teacher in Eastern Europe, in Hungary. Since his return he has assiduously practiced combat sports and literature.
